Workplace and template policy

school template and specimen policy

Any key school policy should be launched (and later reinforced) at an assembly or similar gathering. The following is a summary of existing policy relating to technology misuse being implemented at a school in Seychelles.

  1. It is forbidden to bring any material onto school premises which is of a digital nature and is considered obscene, offensive or otherwise inappropriate and unacceptable.
  2. This ban covers any information stored on mobile telephone handsets, CDRoms, DVDs, computers, external drives, USB sticks and any other digital storage medium existing now or manufactured in the future. Hard copy of such material is similarly forbidden.
  3. It is forbidden for any student to download or attempt to download any unacceptable material from the internet on school premises. Please note that we already have a ‘responsible use’ policy which has been in force for some years.
  4. Should any student bring the school into disrepute through the creation, sharing or publication of inappropriate material, regardless of when and where the event took place, then the school reserves the right to take disciplinary action against that student.

In the case of serious transgressions of these rules the school reserves the right to take whatever action deemed appropriate, up to and including expulsion from school and referral of the matter to the appropriate authorities.

These new rules are designed to protect your son/daughter from negative, dangerous and corrupting material and complement the existing rules concerning drugs, alcohol and tobacco products already in force at the school. Our aim to is ensure that the school remains a healthy, safe and effective educational environment for all members of the school community.
